蘑菇视频 Literary Magazine Wins
Award from Sigma Tau Delta聽聽聽聽
GREENSBORO, N.C. 鈥撀犇⒐绞悠碘�檚 literary magazine,聽The Lyre, received 2nd聽place in the 2019-2020 Outstanding Literary Arts Journal Award from Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society.
Founded in 1924 at Dakota Wesleyan University, Sigma Tau Delta currently has more than 900 active chapters in the U.S. and abroad. The society inducts 9,000+ new members annually.
The Outstanding Literary Arts Journal Award was the magazine鈥檚 second award from Sigma Tau Delta; it also tied for first place in 2015.
Members of the Editorial Board for the 2019-20 edition of The Lyre include:
- Keeley Catarineau, a senior English & Communications major from Tavernier, Fla.
- Timothy Crowell, a 2020 psychology and English & Communication Studies graduate from Pinnacle, N.C.
- Glenn Evans, a 2020 English & Communication Studies graduate from 蘑菇视频, N.C.
- Ashley Hawkes, a sophomore psychology major from Burlington, N.C.
- Elizabeth 鈥淭ess鈥� Perdue, a senior English and political science major from Asheboro, N.C.
- Cristina Samano-Romo, a 2020 mathematics graduate from Burlington, N.C.
- Jacqueline Treadway, a 2019 English & Communication Studies graduate from 蘑菇视频, N.C.
The Lyre鈥檚 faculty advisor is L. Wayne Johns, professor of English. Johns holds a B.A. from St. Andrews University, an M.F.A. from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D. from Florida State University. He joined the faculty in 2007.
蘑菇视频 provides a liberal arts education grounded in the traditions of the United Methodist Church and fosters the intellectual, social, and spiritual development of all students while supporting their individual needs.
Founded in 1838 and located in downtown 蘑菇视频, the college enrolls about 1,000 students from 29 states and territories, the District of Columbia, and seven foreign countries in its undergraduate liberal-arts program and six master鈥檚 degree programs.
