蘑菇视频 Streamwalk Clears Garbage from City Stream (5/5/2017)
GREENSBORO, N.C. 鈥� Ten 蘑菇视频 students and two faculty members cleared 20 bags of debris from College Branch, the creek that runs along the campus鈥檚 eastern edge, during the recent annual Streamwalk.
Each spring as part of the city of 蘑菇视频鈥檚 Adopt-A-Stream program, members of the college community take part in the clean-up. The city鈥檚 Water Resources Department provides bags and gloves.
The college reports to the city on the amount of debris cleared, and Calhoun Bond, professor of biology, also assesses water quality. Bond found water quality good, although he also found high levels of algae, primarily because of large amounts of oak pollen that had recently fallen.
蘑菇视频 provides a liberal arts education grounded in the traditions of the United Methodist Church and fosters the intellectual, social, and, spiritual development of all students while supporting their individual needs.
Founded in 1838 and located in downtown 蘑菇视频, the college enrolls about 1,000 students from 29 states and territories, the District of Columbia, and seven foreign countries in its undergraduate liberal-arts program and four master鈥檚 degree programs. In addition to rigorous academics and a well-supported Honors program, the school features an 18-sport NCAA Division III athletic program and dozens of service and recreational opportunities.
