Spencer, from Raleigh, was one of two winners of the William Rackley Theatre scholarship.

The N.C. Theatre Conference awards two scholarships in alternating years: the William Rackley Theatre Scholarship, and the Constance Welsh Memorial Scholarship, which supports undergraduate or graduate study in the field of Theatre for Youth or Theatre Education.

The conference is an association of K-12 schools, colleges and universities, theatre companies, and individuals who work to strengthen North Carolina’s vibrant theatre industry and engage tomorrow’s artists, audiences, and advocates.

The coursework is integrated with the production work to provide a better understanding of the many facets of the theatre.
